The Skeptic

Ten Years, One Man’s Battlefield

Ten years ago, a tech company posted Edward Lee to India. He arrived alone, into a climate, a pace and a rhythm nothing like home.

 

He ran on data. Every decision measured, every result tracked. But the pressure never let up, and his meals and sleep never settled. This was never the expat adventure people imagine.

 

His body was the first to tell the truth. One system after another began to slip, like dominoes. He tried every quick fix within reach.

 

None of them lasted.

 

The Turning Point

The Practitioner Who Prescribed Nothing

A friend in India took him to see a traditional Ayurvedic practitioner. After a long consultation, there was no prescription. Only the names of a few botanical formulas, written by hand.

 

He went in a skeptic. Within months, he felt like himself again.

 

But an engineer doesn’t accept a result he can’t explain. So Edward went looking for the why, and found that the herbs were only one part of something larger: an entire system built around reading the state of the body.

The Maker

The Man on the Other Side of the Bottle

 

In those same years, Sunil Jain was working from the opposite direction. For above 10 years he ran GMP-certified manufacturing for wellness brands in more than 180 countries, sourcing raw botanicals and turning them into finished formulas.

 

He knew what few people outside the factory floor ever see: the same herb can deliver brilliantly, or barely at all. It depends on where it was grown, how it was extracted, and what it was formulated with.

 

Two men. Two vantage points. One conclusion: the wisdom was never the problem. The variable was precision.

The Convergence

No Shortcuts Between the Farm and the Capsule

That shared conviction brought Edward and Sunil to the same table. Edward brought a technologist’s insistence on evidence. Sunil brought a manufacturer’s command of quality.

 

They traced every raw material back to its source, and worked with nutritionists to test and refine. Along the way, they confirmed something essential: a single herb has limits. It performs best inside a complete architecture, paired with the right nutrients.

The Hidden Promise

Five thousand years ago, India named a science after the span of life itself. Ayus — the Sanskrit word for life, for lifespan.

Ayurveda - the knowledge of how long, and how well, a body can live. We named our company after that promise. Then we built it a laboratory.

The Two Authors

Every formula has two authors. One wrote in Sanskrit, centuries before magnesium had a name. The other writes today, in peer reviewed journals, with standardized extracts and measured doses.

Shatavari was documented in the Charaka Samhita before the Roman Empire fell. 5-MTHF was synthesised within living memory. Our work is to make these two authors write the same capsule.

Wherever a patented active exists that meets our standard, we specify it over a generic extract — because it carries a fixed identity in every batch and published human research on that exact material. DEEPOM is formulated with Shoden® Ashwagandha, standardised to 35% withanolide glycosides.

Yes. Our formulations are calibrated for tropical urban living, taking into account common climate-related stressors such as chronic heat, high humidity, and prolonged exposure to air conditioning.
